West Ham have been handed a huge boost ahead of their London derby against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend after reports suggest star duo Richarlison and Son Heung-min could miss out through injury.

The Hammers are set to take on Spurs in North London on Saturday afternoon, and they will be looking to capitalise on their recent 4-1 thrashing of Premier League new boys Ipswich Town at the London Stadium before the international break.

They are playing the Lilywhites at the right time as Ange Postecoglu’s team threw away a 2-0 lead over Brighton to lose 3-2 before the international break. Spurs will be feeling the pressure after such an embarrassing collapse while Julen Lopetegui’s side will be in high spirits upon the return of Premier League football.

A recent report football.london may also boost the Hammers this week as it was recently suggested that Brazilian striker Richarlison will be out through injury, while main man Son could make the bench, but it will come down to the wire for the South Korea international.

Spurs lack firepower this weekend

The Spurs captain has been on fire so far this season, bagging four goal involvements in his first five games and already establishing a great relationship with summer signing Dominic Solanke up front.

Richarlison has only managed 25 minutes this season due to injury, but the Brazil international has shown how dangerous he can be under Postecoglu after bagging 11 goals and four assists last season.

The last time the Hammers travelled to North London in the Premier League they managed an impressive comeback win after Cristian Romero opened the scoring early, only for Jarrod Bowen to pick up an equaliser before a late winner from fellow Englishman, James Ward-Prowse.

Both Son and Richarlison featured in the game, so West Ham fans should feel a big boost to hear the pair are likely to miss out this time around.

A result in this London derby would be the jump start Lopetegui’s men need after their lacklustre start.
