West Ham have been boosted by the news that Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri is reportedly open to the idea of joining the Hammers in the summer transfer window.
Julen Lopetegui is looking for a strong summer in the transfer market, aiming to bring in notable additions across various areas of the pitch.
While the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus have become undisputed key men in the final third, a new striker needs to be a priority in the coming months.
Michail Antonio’s West Ham future is still up in the air, but even if the 34-year-old stays put and triggers the extra 12-month option in his current deal, he is no longer the force he used to be.
En-Nesyri has been linked with a move to the London Stadium plenty of times in recent months, and now an enouraging update has emerged courtesy of Give Me Sport, who claim that he is keen on joining the Hammers this summer:
“West Ham United have been boosted in their hopes of landing Youssef En-Nesyri as the Sevilla star is open to sealing a switch to the London Stadium as head coach Julen Lopetegui also turns his attentions towards securing cover for the injured Edson Alvarez, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

“Lopetegui is keen to reunite with the Morocco international centre forward, who found the back of the net 36 times over the course of 115 appearances under his stewardship at the La Liga side, and has pinpointed him as a leading target as preparations are made for his first season at the helm.”
The fact that Lopetegui already knows En-Nesyri so well from their Sevilla days can only be a good thing, and he has the potential to be a fantastic signing for West Ham, should a deal be agreed.
The Moroccan scored 16 goals in 28 La Liga starts in the 2023/24 season, showing how prolific he can be, and he has netted 73 times in 196 matches in total for the Spanish side.
Now 27, En-Nesyri is at a great point in his career, in terms of being hugely experienced but still young enough to be a force for plenty of years to come, so West Ham should be looking at him as a leading attacking option this summer.
