Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing West Ham star Mohammed Kudus in the summer transfer window, acting as a potential blow for the Hammers.

The Ghanaian made the move to the London Stadium from Ajax last summer, coming in as an exciting signing after impressing at the 2022 World Cup, where he scored twice in three appearances in the competition.

Kudus hasn’t disappointed for West Ham this season, adding genuine quality to David Moyes’ attack and linking with the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen, making a noticeable difference.

The 23-year-old has seven goals and four assists in the Premier League in 2023/24 to date, and the hope is that he remains with the Hammers for many years to come.

Given Kudus’ quality, however, it is only natural that interest from big clubs could emerge in the near future, and that appears to be the case with Liverpool.

According to a report from Spain, the Reds are keen on snapping up the Ghana international this summer, seeing him as a strong option to be Mohamed Salah’s long-term replacement.

It remains to be seen if the Liverpool superstar will be at Anfield beyond this season, but either way, he turns 32 years of age later this year and won’t be around forever.

It is believed that West Ham could find it difficult to retain the services of their prized attacker, especially if the Merseysiders table an offer in excess of £50m.

Losing Kudus in the summer window would be a massive blow for the Hammers, considering he has only spent one season in east London so far, not to mention that he has such a huge amount of potential to get even better.

The concern for West Ham is that the lure of joining a club of Liverpool’s stature could be too great to turn down, even though Jurgen Klopp is departing as manager at the end of the season.

Hopefully, loyalty prevails, with Kudus feeling that this is just the start of his journey with the Hammers, and much may depend on the stability at the club going into next season, as Moyes weighs up his future.

Sorry he is not going anywhere, he has a 5 year contract that would cost Liverpool a lot more than £50 million and I expect they will be told he is not for sale.
