West Ham United are showing no signs of slowing down their business ahead of this summer’s transfer deadline day.

What’s the word?

That is according to journalist Ryan Taylor, via GIVEMESPORT, who claims that the club will remain active in the final days of the window, despite securing the signature of Brazil international Lucas Paqueta, who is their eighth signing of the summer.

The Hammers board have spent around £164million on transfers in this period, with no signs of slowing down according to Taylor.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I believe that West Ham will be incredibly active in the final days of the window. It’s clear they have several gaps in their squad.”

Moyes will be delighted

David Moyes’ inclination to work with a small squad ultimately hindered the Hammers last season, as a result of restraints caused by their Europa League semi-final run.

A lack of squad depth saw West Ham struggle to balance extra games and ultimately served as a detriment to their Premier League campaign.

But with around £164million spent on eight signings that include the likes of Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca, Thilo Kehrer and Emerson to name a few, the squad is in a much better state than the one that ended the campaign last season.

Although, as rightly pointed out by Taylor, there are still a number of gaps in the squad.

For instance, another winger, central-midfielder and full-back would provide greater competition for places and much-needed cover in those areas in a season that once again sees the Hammers balance European football with the ever-busy Premier League.

Moyes will be delighted with the backing that the club have given him in this window and it does not look as though the London Stadium side are done with their shopping, which could go right up until the final day.
