West Ham could sign eternal Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko for just £15.4 million this summer according to a report from Calcio Napoli 24.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be on the lookout for central midfielders having relied heavily upon Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek this term, with recent speculation in France suggesting Bakayoko is the chosen target.

The 26-year-old Frenchman signed for Chelsea from Monaco back in 2017 for £36m (Transfermarkt), but has since been sent out on loan to AC Milan, back to Monaco and now with Napoli.

In four years with the Blues, Bakayoko has made just 43 appearances for the club, scoring three times and assisting on three others.

This term has been another successful spell away from West London for the once-capped France ace, making 35 outings in all competitions.

OPINION

Signing Bakayoko would be a huge coup for the Hammers this summer, especially at the mooted figure.

Holding a market value at £22.5m (Transfermarkt), despite his Chelsea struggles the French enforcer has enjoyed impressive spells away with elite clubs, proof the qualities that earned the big money move are still there.

Possessing all the attributes Moyes looks for in a midfielder, the Irons could do much worse than signing Bakayoko on a cut-price deal to provide backup and competition to Rice and Soucek.
