West Ham United have been offered the opportunity to sign Valencia’s star attacked Goncalo Guedes, according to a report from AS (Print edition, page 18, March 24th).

The Portugal international could be available as the Spanish side look to raise funds desperately, with AS (Print edition, page 18, March 24th) claiming that the La Liga side will welcome suitable bids in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old versatile winger is allegedly available for just £13 million according to a separate report by Fichajes.

Indeed, another Fichajes reported previously claimed that Irons boss David Moyes wants to add the Portuguese attacker to his shopping list of targets that he wants at the London Stadium this summer.

The attacker has struggled to find consistent form this season, with just four goals and three assists in 24 games on his record for Valencia this season (via Transfermarkt).

Opinion

Despite a shaky season thus far, his recent form should not be a serious turn-off to West Ham fans.

He is listed as having played on both wings, in more advanced and in deeper-lying roles whilst also having experience as an attacking midfielder and as a centre-forward.

That renders him as something of a Swiss army knife – albeit one manufactured in Portugal.

That means he could provide cover throughout Moyes’ offensive quartet, operating on either flank, behind the striker or even as competition for Michail Antonio up front.

Valued at £13.5 million (via Transfermarkt), it seems Valencia are willing to accept a bid at his market value rather than one commanding an inflated fee.

Consequentially, the young winger strikes a fine maelstrom of attributes.

Value, experience, youthfulness and versatility could all inject fresh life into the squad.
