Whilst our attacking men were getting all the praise on Saturday, a resolute and impressive performance was being put in at the back and Jeremy Ngakia was a huge part of that.
Ironically, in a more attacking team performance than we saw in his previous two appearances against Liverpool, we got to see more of the 19-year-old’s solid defensive play and we liked it.
Having seen two players in the form of Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku look good going forward but shabby in defence at left-back over the last couple of years, it’s a relief that we’ve got a young right-back who can do both.
After the match, he spoke to the club about the immense support of the Claret & Blue Army, his desire for more game time and the importance of keeping up his hard work – impressive comments too.
Fellow fans were overjoyed with our new homegrown hero when reacting to his words…

Ngakia sounds grounded and hungry and, at 19 years of age, could be a long term solution to West Ham’s must publicised RB problems. Ngakia has been superb in his first three appearances for the club – especially considering he has played against Liverpool in two of those.

Great player with bags of potential. Once again, Chelsea’s loss is our gain as with Dec.
