It’s a question that we’ve all answered in our minds at some point; which players would make an all-time West Ham United five-a-side team?
How could we possibly whittle all the stars in the history of our club down to five? One goalkeeper, one centre-back, two midfielders and a striker?
Well, that’s what fellow fans have been doing on social media and what we’re going to attempt today.
For the goalkeeper, it’s an odd choice but in his prime he was one of the best in the world, so Joe Hart.
There’s absolutely no doubt about the centre-back, Bobby Moore, both for his defensive abilities and passing quality, which is key in five-a-side.
The thought behind my two choices for the midfield is the skill that you need to succeed in the five-a-side format, so Dimitri Payet and Joe Cole it is.
You need a born-finisher up front and whilst it would be tempting to go for Geoff Hurst or Paolo Di Canio, it has to be the one and only Dean Ashton.
