Who would have thought in his debut season that four of five years later when he was supposed to be in his prime, 27-year-old Manuel Lanzini would look so lost?

That terrible injury may have more to do with it than we realise, but the Argentine has fallen dramatically, with no form whatsoever and ability that already appears to be on the wane.

When we saw glimpses of the vintage Lanzini at Watford both at the end of last season and the start of this season, you might have thought it could be a big campaign for him.

However, excusing a brief shoulder injury that saw him miss most of November and December, he’s only set up two goals since, has been unable to score himself for nearly a year and has lost his international place – we last saw him in a five-minute cameo over a month ago.

Rightly so, Fornals has nicked his place in the team and fellow fans on Twitter are already debating Lanzini’s price if he’s to be moved on in the summer…
