Lots of West Ham fans have been loving a classic match video that was posted by the daily On This Day game blogger VinnyWHUFC on social media.
The matchup was against Manchester City in the 1995/1996 season and saw a thrilling 4-2 victory featuring that stunner from Julian Dicks that we’ve seen so many times in Hammers highlight reals since.
I don’t think any of us will ever get tired of hearing about that goal so we’re going to describe it once more: the best left-back England never had collects a chipped pass from Micheal Hughes on the left wing, gallops forward and smashes an absolute worldie into the top left-hand corner to put the encounter beyond the Citizens’ reach inside the final ten minutes.
Do you have any special memories of that day or that goal?

This was the last home game I went to before deploying to Bosnia with IFOR. What a send off…

Remember this one well. Height of Britpop, we were singing ‘Blur are better than Oasis’ and they were chanting ‘You’re my Alan Ball’ to Wonderwall. Happy days
