Declan Rice and, perhaps, Angelo Ogbonna looked like the only West Ham players putting effort in on Wednesday night. The rest just looked lethargic and, at times, like they weren’t even bothering.
So it’s no surprise that many West Ham fans on Twitter couldn’t believe what they were hearing when listening to David Moyes’ post-match comments…

Let’s look at the facts, shall we? We had zero shots on target, just 23% of possession and if it wasn’t for some woeful finishing on the part of the hosts, it would have been an embarrassing scoreline.
Even Port Vale managed an effort on target when they went to the Etihad last month; how could Moyes say that we did everything we could, based on this alone?
How can he be happy with the effort 🤦🏼♂️

How can he inspire you with confidence. Lost the game before a ball was kicked due to his tactics. Wasting your time going to Liverlool on Monday, it’ll be exactly the same but we’ll lose by a wider margin.

Pardon me ? I cannot comprehend! What universe is this ? The lone striker doesn’t work it only means that striker will get injured when we need him most! Time to cry and have a tantrum 😩

We didn’t defend well, we concede two goals.
We didn’t attack well, we didn’t have a shot in target.— Woody (@HammersFan02380) February 19, 2020
