Fans on social media have been taking aim at West Ham Academy graduate Reece Oxford after a rumour suggesting that he could drop into Germany’s fourth tier.
German outlet Kick (via The Sun) reported that the blast from the past is set for a loan to the Regionalliga to gain game time and Augsburg were keen to get it done in January.
You’d have been forgiven for completely forgetting about Oxford as he’s hardly made waves since making his loan to the Bundesliga permanent last summer.
His last appearance saw him make a terrible mistake the other side of Christmas and it was just his eighth showing of the season – quite often he hasn’t even been able to get into Martin Schmidt’s matchday squad at all, last doing that before the winter break.
Supporters are far from sympathetic, however, with some accusing him of having a dodgy attitude, being greedy and selfish and expressing their pleasure at the club’s decision to get rid of him…
