Carlton Cole appeared on Sky Sports’ The Debate on Tuesday, 25 February at 22:45, and he had plenty to say on his beloved West Ham, including some stuff about Felipe Anderson.
Cole praised him as a great player, but accused him of not pulling his weight at present and stated that his talent should see him doing a lot more and not looking like he wasn’t bothered at Liverpool.
Maybe this is a bit harsh from Carlton seeing as it was his full return from injury and yes, he appeared a bit lethargic in the first half, but was more of a threat as the game progressed before being prematurely hauled off.
Fellow fans on Twitter have been getting their opinions across on the comments about the winger, with some agreeing with Cole and others presenting more complex views.
You can see the pick of the reactions, below…
Started to look class in the 2nd half and he got subbed off, should have put Bowen on instead so we could continue rotating the front 3. Putting Haller on that early played into Van Dijk’s hands

From the first game he played i see a player that just wanted to go one way and was not up for doing any hard work to help the team so for me he as got to be sold in the summer

Think pelligrini shattered his confidence by way he played him and always subbing him then the injury… he needs a bit of love and some game time

Yeah, doesn’t like to put his foot in on a tackle

I see alot of people giving a rating of 7 or 8 for Anderson… I totally agree with cole, he did not look bothered at all and gave the ball away along with noble for easily!

Rich coming from Carlton, he’s right though

First half yes, second he roasted past alexander-arnold a few times and looked a threat on the counter and then got subbed. We all know if he was consistent he’d be at a top 4 club

Liverpool closed him down really fast every time he got the ball he looked a yard off the pace I’d start him against Southampton
