Supporters on social media are not best pleased with the latest West Ham rumour from Sky Sports, stating that the club has had a $500k loan bid – with a view to buy for $4.5m at the end of the season – for USA centre-back Aaron Long rejected by New York Red Bulls.
Long was named MLS’s Defender of the Year in 2018 and would have potentially moved to east London last summer had he not been denied a work permit.
As one supporter eluded to, out of all the positions that might need strengthening in the whole squad, why on earth are the board looking to bring in another centre-back?
David Moyes already has Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Angelo Ogbonna, Winston Reid and Goncalo Cardoso at his disposal and you could even argue that that’s too many!
Unbelievable…
Cheapskate Sullivan.Get out of our club.

Our saviour! The man that will keep us in the prem! The only position in the whole squad we have adequate cover in. This has to be made up! Kaveh at Sky broke it I think, so we can dismiss this out of hand completely!
