The cream of West Ham United’s crop of youngsters went up against the next generation of Manchester United stars on Monday evening and comfortably came out on top, much to the delight of Hammers on Twitter.
Fans were quick to congratulate the U23s on yet another victory and a big achievement in the Premier League 2 Division 2, as the future of the club continues to look bright.
The starlets, under Dmitri Halajko, have impressively bounced back from Division 1 relegation in 2018/2019 and now lead the second tier of PL2 football by four points after 14 matches.
The victory over second-place United is their 12th of the campaign and they’re also unbeaten in the league in 2019/2020, the triumph coming courtesy of strikes from Alfie Lewis and Nathan Holland, the latter of whom is set to join Oxford United on loan this month.
