Former Arsenal wonderkid Malcolm Ebiowei has completed his trial at West Ham United, according to allnigeriasoccer.

The online outlet claim on their website that the Hammers are yet to make a decision on whether they want to offer the attacking midfielder a deal at the London Stadium.

Allnigeriasoccer has reported that there are plans in place for the 16-year-old to train with several other Premier League clubs in the coming months before any decision is made on his future.

It is suggested that Ebiowei shares an agent with Alex Iwobi and shares close links with the likes of Manchester City and Everton, along with clubs in Germany and France.

OPINION

If West Ham were blown away by the 16-year-old, surely they would have had an offer ready and waiting on the table for him to sign after his trial. It is suggested that Arsenal didn’t offer the young midfielder a fresh scholarship deal due to some problems off the field – something which could have affected the Hammers’ thought process moving forward. Ebiowei is clearly a talent, and the fact that he already has a number of clubs available to him proves that. West Ham need to be careful not to lose him after it was revealed that he shined for both their under-16s and under-18s squads during his trial. After travelling with the young Nigerians to the under-17’s World Cup recently, Ebiowei was surprisingly omitted from the action for the Africans, with the speculation continuing to grow, West Ham must remain sharp and ready to make an offer whenever necessary should they want to secure him in the future.
