Holland will not start v Arsenal

|

Nathan Holland will not start for West Ham against Arsenal on Monday evening, according to reliable source ExWHUemployee.

The youngster did not feature for the Hammers’ U23s on Friday night, and was included in Manuel Pellegrini’s match day squad for the 2-0 defeat to Wolves last Wednesday, making his debut from the bench.

But Ex has claimed that he will not be given the nod from the outset against the Gunners.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, when asked about Holland, he said: “He won’t start tomorrow, no”.

OPINION

This won’t come as a surprise to many West Ham fans. Holland has impressed immensely for the U23s this season, but he can’t seem to catch a real break for the first team, and even last time out, when he was handed a Premier League debut, he didn’t really have the time or opportunity to make a real impression. Over the course of his 19 minute cameo he managed two successful dribbles, as per Whoscored, but there was precious little else to go on, and given the apparent stubbornness of Manuel Pellegrini at the moment, it would probably take something earth shattering for Holland to get the nod against the Gunners. His best hope is another appearance from the bench, and hopefully more chances to get on the ball and prove once and for all to his boss what he is actually capable of.
