Some West Ham fans revealed they wanted their club to sign attacker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the veteran forward announced he was leaving LA Galaxy when his contract expires in December (Source: Sky Sports).  The 38-year-old striker revealed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that he would like to thank LA Galaxy for making him feel alive again, before showcasing his arrogance by suggesting that people go back to watching baseball once he is gone. Ibrahimovic scored 52 goals in 53 starts for Galaxy so showed he was still a clinical force in front of goal, and it seems that is enough for a section of Hammers fans to want him at the London Stadium. One West Ham supporter even claimed the forward could save the club’s season, while others opted to tweet the player himself in order to lure him to the Hammers. Ibrahimovic was a success when he was last in the Premier League, the forward scored 17 goals in 33 top-flight outings for Manchester United, averaging an impressive 0.52 goals per match, as per the Premier League’s website, but surely it’s a backward step for the Hammers to sign someone that’s nearly 40-years-old. While Ibrahimovic will clearly go down as one of the game’s great players when he hangs up his boots, Manuel Pellegrini signing him would be silly and a publicity stunt if anything.
