When Manuel Pellegrini arrived at West Ham United, the mood was positive, after all, the London Stadium had a Premier League-winning manager ready to take to its technical area. Fast forward less than two years, and the Chilean is in the middle of one of his toughest patches whilst managing in England, with the Hammers winless since September and it would be no surprise to see him given his marching orders after the embarrassing 3-0 defeat against Burnley on Saturday. It was revealed by ExWHUemployee on his personal Twitter account that West Ham approached Brendan Rodgers before he joined Leicester City, but the club were rejected. Rodgers has transformed the Foxes, who currently sit second whilst West Ham have plunged to sixteenth in the Premier League. There is a real sense of what could have been within the Hammers’ fan base, and they took to Twitter to react to the news, with many claiming it is their board’s fault for the rejection as they believe that not many would want to work under that hierarchy.
