West Ham fans on Twitter appear to be delighted with a report which claims the Hammers are eyeing up Frankfurt centre-back Martin Hinteregger. Football Insider have reported that the Irons have Hinteregger, 27, in their sights as Manuel Pellegrini aims to improve his defence with the Austria international valued at £22million by his club. West Ham’s defence has been poor during Pellegrini’s time in charge and if he is going to add to his squad in January, it should be to improve his defensive and midfield options. Fans on Twitter seem to agree with one saying that Hinteregger would even be worth £30million if West Ham’s interest is serious. The ex-Red Bull Salzburg defender has been in good form this season and has even been getting on the scoresheet regularly for Frankfurt, hitting the back of the net four times in 19 appearances across all competitions. He would definitely be a welcome addition at the London Stadium and £22million seems like a good price.
