The West Ham United board are very concerned by the lacklustre performances of summer signing Pablo Fornals thus far, according to Claret & Hugh.
The reliable Hammers news source claims that the Irons power brokers are particularly disappointed by how the 23-year-old has adapted since his £24million move from Villarreal.
And while the owners have no desire to sack manager Manuel Pellegrini at present, they are worried by how poorly Fornals has performed this season.
The report states that the Spain international has shown ‘no form’ since joining the club, and that the board are worried by his displays.

It’s no surprise that the powers that be at the London Stadium are concerned about how Fornals has done since joining the club. He’s been really poor, producing next to nothing offensively and never really creating chances with regularity either. This is a highly-rated player, a Spanish international, who arrived at the club to massive fanfare. However, English football isn’t for everyone, and perhaps we’re seeing that now. Having said that, there are plenty of examples of players struggling at clubs initially before going on to excel, such as Fabinho at Liverpool and Moussa Sissoko at Tottenham Hotspur. It’s true, though, that Fornals hasn’t gotten going at all in east London. As per WhoScored.com, he’s failed to score or grab an assist in the Premier League, while he is averaging only 0.6 key passes per game. Meanwhile, he averages one dispossession and one unsuccessful touch per outing, to the tune of an average WhoScored rating of 6.26. He’s been woeful, make no mistake about it, and he’s not helping his under-pressure manager at the moment.
