It’s fair to say that there is a mounting sense of excitement surrounding Grady Diangana.

The winger has been in superb form on loan at West Brom so far this season, and all the signs are that he has the quality and ability to be a real hit for the Hammers when he returns.

As per Whoscored, he has hit four goals and four assists in the Championship, as well as an average of 1.6 shots on goal, 1.8 key passes, and 2.4 successful dribbles per game.

He is proving himself to be a well-rounded attacking threat, and at this rate, he could be challenging for a starting role in east London from the moment he gets back.

And any belief in his potential has to be backed up by the latest comments from Hammers favourite Julian Dicks.

The West Brom assistant manager, who also worked with Slaven Bilic at West Ham, has been eager to sing Diangana’s praises.

As quoted by The Athletic, he said: “He’s a great lad.

“He is very polite and for me that’s a very big thing because manners cost nothing. You say good morning to everybody. Even if you don’t like people you say good morning, you hold the door open for them. That’s just the way I am and he’s exactly the same.

“He’s a very polite young man.”

Something as trivial as the way that Diangana conducts himself around the training ground may not seem overly important to his progression in the professional game, but a bad attitude can break a player’s career, and staying humble and grounded will serve the youngster well going forward.

Diangana has everything in place to be a real hit for the Irons.
