West Ham United could recall Josh Cullen from his loan spell at Charlton after Mark Noble picked up an injury in the 3-0 defeat against Burnley, according to Claret and Hugh.
The club source claim on their website that the Hammers’ captain will have a scan on his injured ankle on Monday evening which will reveal the severity of the problem.
Claret and Hugh report that Manuel Pellegrini could bring Cullen back to the London Stadium in January for the remainder of the season, with an injury to Noble meaning Declan Rice and Carlos Sanchez would be his only options in holding midfield.

The 3-0 result against Burnley on Saturday is the least of West Ham’s worries right now, and that says a lot. It wasn’t only Noble that picked up a problem, with Manuel Lanzini also being stretchered off at Turf Moor, meaning another player that could potentially play in the middle of the park is missing long-term. Noble would be a massive miss moving forward, with his leadership and experienced pivotal to the Hammers, and especially to Declan Rice who has excelled alongside him. Cullen has been going about his business quietly but effectively at Charlton this season. The decision to drop into the Championship and continue gaining experience was a wise move, and it could benefit him with a potential spot up for grabs should he be recalled. Should Noble be out long-term, it would leave Pellegrini with little choice but to bring the Irishman back to the club, after all, he couldn’t do much worse than the rest of his teammates if picked.
