AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie could head to West Ham in the near future for £21.4million, according to Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti.
The SportItalia reporter and commentator claims that Kessie, 22, is likely to head to England and the two clubs who are favourites to land the Ivory Coast international are West Ham and Wolves.
“Kessie will go to England, to Wolverhampton or West Ham, for at least €25million and Milan will reinvest in the market,” Pellegatti said via his personal YouTube account on Monday.
Kessie has made 11 appearances and scored one goal in Serie A for AC Milan this season but has not started any of their last three matches.
West Ham really need to add some strength in depth to their central midfield options because away from Declan Rice and Mark Noble, they don’t have anyone that fans will get all too excited about. Jack Wilshere has really flopped since joining the Hammers and is more than likely going to get injured if he is ever called upon while Carlos Sanchez might as well be discounted as a first-team player due to his lack of inclusion. Rice and Noble are not the worst players at the club right now but they are not exactly in good form and replacing one of them could spark some much-needed life into the Irons midfield. Kessie is not in amazing form at AC Milan this season but he is still a good young midfielder who could make a difference at the London Stadium in times like this. He’s very good on the ball and could be the man to help the Hammers drive forward and add some creativity.
