West Ham United have made a number of changes to their side for Saturday’s trip to Chelsea, according to ExWHUemployee.
Manuel Pellegrini is expected to switch his side around from the 3-2 defeat against Tottenham, with Issa Diop suspended for the game at Stamford Bridge.
The reliable club source reported on his personal Twitter account on Saturday morning that there will be more than just that one enforced change for the London derby.
“There are some changes to the team today,” he wrote.
West Ham are looking to put an end to their winless run, which has seen them not pick up three points since the 2-0 victory against Manchester United in September.
OPINION
There is no surprise that Pellegrini has made a number of changes to his side for the trip to Chelsea, especially after an embarrassing couple of months in East London. It is a shock that the South American hasn’t been forced into some changes earlier, given that he has stuck with the same sort of side that doesn’t seem to be able to turn their fortunes around. Diop is suspended so that is one change that has to happen, as, for the others, there are a number of candidates who could easily drop out at Stamford Bridge. We speak for nearly all Hammers’ fans when suggesting that Roberto would be the first name who could and probably should be dropped given his dreadful form in between the sticks. Then there are the likes of Felipe Anderson, who has not yet managed to hit the same heights that he did last season, failing to hit the back of the net this season for the Irons. Either way, Pellegrini has to do something to try and change his fortunes around at West Ham.
