West Ham want to beat Galatasaray to Samatta

West Ham United are looking to sign Genk striker Mbwana Samatta in January in order to beat Galatasaray to his services, according to Sporx.

The Turkish outlet claim that Galatasaray are looking to make a move for the Tanzanian international at the end of the season, with a £10.3million offer in the pipeline.

Sporx report on their official Twitter account that both West Ham and Newcastle United are ready to launch an offer in January in order to beat the Turkish club to the 26-year-old.

Samatta has continued his fine form this season, scoring eight goals in his 19 appearances in all competitions.

Given West Ham’s recent form in the Premier League, it would be smart of Manuel Pellegrini to go out and secure another signing in the January market. Sebastien Haller has become more and more isolated as the weeks go on, and the Hammers have yet to give Albian Ajeti a chance to start and impress. West Ham haven’t won since September, and a new striker is the way forward so he can come in and start finding the back of the net consistently. Samatta has proved just that in the last two seasons, scoring 40 goals since the beginning of the last campaign. The Tanzanian forward has caused Liverpool bucket loads of problems in the last two Champions League games, and the African talisman has all the power and pace needed to make it in the top flight. With Newcastle and Galatasaray apparently interested, Pellegrini should go all out to try and beat them to his services in January.
