Jeff Stelling has predicted a loss for West Ham in their Premier League clash with Burnley this weekend.
The Hammers are winless in five in the league, and go into the match just one point and one place ahead of Sean Dyche’s men in the table.
Burnley themselves are on a run of three consecutive defeats, but Stelling believes they will end that slump with a victory over Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the presenter predicted a 1-0 win for the Clarets.
This game could be pivotal for Manuel Pellegrini’s tenure as West Ham manager. Despite their dire run of form recently, the Irons are still only three points of sixth, and if they were to beat Burnley and climb the table, then you could perhaps kid yourself into believing that they have been enduring an unfortunate blip and nothing more. European football is not out of the question yet, and if they can start to turn things around with all three points on Saturday then things will certainly feel more optimistic in east London. That being said, if they lose against the Clarets, then it could be a disaster. Six games without a win is unacceptable for a club with their ambitions, and Pellegrini would surely be facing a whole host of very awkward questions were it to become a reality.
