West Ham will not revise their decision to recall Grady Diangana from his loan spell at West Brom, according to Claret & Hugh.
A report from Football Insider on Friday suggested that the Hammers were considering offering the Baggies a swap deal, sending Nathan Holland to the midlands and bringing Diangana back to east London in return.
But a club insider, speaking to Claret & Hugh, has disputed the claim.
They said: “We’re happy with the way things are going as Grady gets valuable regular first team football – it’s a deal which currently suits everybody.”
OPINION
There are certainly arguments to be made both ways when it comes to the matter of recalling Diangana. On the one hand, he is having an absolute blinder of a season in the Championship, and it makes sense that the Hammers would want him back. So far this term he has averaged 1.7 shots, 1.8 key passes, and 2.6 successful dribbles per game, as per Whoscored, as well as scoring four goals and assisting three more already for the Baggies. That being said, would he start every week for the Irons at this exact moment? Perhaps not. Unless Manuel Pellegrini could guarantee him regular senior football, which he can’t, then it is far batter for the player in the long term if he is allowed to stay with Albion for the remainder of the season. That patience could really pay off in the future.
