Grady Diangana sent an Instagram message to ex-West Ham attacker Lucas Perez after he scored a late equaliser for Alaves on Tuesday.

Perez rescued a point for Alaves as he scored in the 83rd minute of their match with Atletico Madrid to see the game end 1-1 after Alvaro Morata had previously put Diego Simeone’s side ahead.

The former Hammers forward took to his verified Instagram account after the game to celebrate getting on the scoresheet and being his side’s hero in their latest display.

Great point against a complicated rival. Now to think about the next,” wrote Perez.

Perez’s post saw Diangana take to his personal Instagram account to hail his former teammate as the best, with his message even containing several fire emojis to emphasis his point.

“Thé besttt,” wrote the Hammers winger, who is currently on loan at West Bromwich Albion.

OPINION

Perez left the London Stadium to join Alaves in the summer and his spell is going exactly like he likely dreamed it would.  After scoring only six goals in 19 appearances for the Hammers, which is worse than it sounds when you consider who he scored against, the 31-year-old has already racked up five goals for his new club. In fact, Perez has scored in his last five league games in a row and recently put in a Man of the Match worthy display in the 2-0 win against Celta Vigo, as not only did he score, but he registered an assist as well. The 31-year-old seems to be thriving off reguarly being called upon as he seems hungry to wow in matches as he has averaged 1.1 shots and 1.6 key passes per game across his 11 outings so far (Source: WhoScored). In comparison, Perez only averaged 0.5 key passes as well as 0.6 shots per game across his 15 Premier League outings for the Hammers, as per WhoScored, so it does show how he is benefiting from changing clubs as clearly he is having better luck in Spain than he did in England last season.
