Harry Redknapp has predicted West Ham will beat Sheffield United on Saturday, and has hailed the impact of Sebastien Haller in the process.

The Hammers suffered a 2-0 defeat to Everton last weekend, their second on a row, but Redknapp believes they have what it takes to bounce back against the Blades.

Speaking to Bet Victor, he said: “To avoid a quick return back to the Championship they [Sheffield United] will need to improve their goal output and ability to pick up points on the road and after the euphoria of Monday I feel a long trip to the capital to play West Ham will bring them back down to earth.

“Sebastien Haller has hit the ground running following his summer move from Eintracht Frankfurt and with four goals the Frenchman has become a fans favourite already.

“He gives the team real class up front and with a side packed with flamboyant teammates, there is no reason West Ham can’t be a force to be reckoned with this season.

“I fully expect that when West Ham Host Spurs in a months’ time they will be amongst the top six.”

OPINION

West Ham fans will be hoping that Redknapp is right about this one. The Hammers desperately need a win after two defeats in a row, and they cannot risk this blip becoming a serious slump. Thankfully, they have Haller to help with that task. The Frenchman has been superb since arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt, and he already looks every inch the Premier League leading man. So far this season he has averaged 7.5 aerial duels won per game, as well as 2.4 shots and one key pass, and has a Whoscored rating of 7.48. He has already proven that he is a fantastic hold-up man and finisher, and if he can continue in the rich vein of form that he is mining at the moment, there’s no reason why he can’t become one of the standout players of this Premier League campaign.
