It was an afternoon forget at Goodison Park for West Ham United on Saturday.

Everton were in the relegation zone before the game and completely dismantled the Hammers in a 2-0 win as Manuel Pellegrini’s side looked void of ideas.

The Chilean was forced into two changes before the clash, as Andriy Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell were replaced by Arthur Masuaku and Pablo Fornals – something that really hurt West Ham going forward.

West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini disappointed once again in Merseyside and has not been himself since missing a couple of games through injury in September.

The Argentine international was poor against Everton and didn’t manage to get into the dangerous areas in the final third that he has done so often this season.

Lanzini only had one shot on goal and didn’t register a single key pass as players such as Sebastien Haller suffered due to a lack of service.

Many West Ham fans took to Twitter to tear apart the 26-year-old for his performance on Saturday, and Lanzini must improve going forward.

Pellegrini should not be afraid to teach Lanzini a lesson at the London Stadium, and that could lead to the playmaker being placed on the bench in games.

Lanzini needs to rediscover the form he had at the beginning of the season in East London, the form that actually saw him sign a new contract extension at the club.

Haller leads the line superbly but can not do it all with the service he deserves, something that Lanzini is pivotal in providing, and also something that he hasn’t been doing recently against both Everton and Crystal Palace.

After being slammed by fans once again for his performance, it won’t be long until Pellegrini is forced to take action, and he should do that to teach the Argentine a lesson.
