Flaherty wants to join West Ham

|

Arsenal midfielder Stan Flaherty has told his friends he wants to join West Ham United, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football outlet claim on their website that Flaherty is keen to make the switch from the Gunners to East London after impressing on trial for the Hammers.

Football Insider report that West Ham’s academy staff are interested in exploring a deal for the 17-year-old, but are yet to make up their minds.

Flaherty is eager to make the move to the London Stadium as he believes he has more chance to breakthrough into the first-team of the side he supports.

Everything appears to be heading in the right direction for both Flaherty and West Ham. Given that the young Gunners’ prospect is keen to join his boyhood club, should West Ham staff decide they want to pursue a deal, it should be sorted relatively quickly. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has appeared twice for the Hammers during his trial at the club, scoring twice in his debut for the under-18s in a victory over Norwich City. Flaherty couldn’t have done much more to impress during his time at the club, and the fact that academy staff are interested in exploring a deal means talks could begin soon with the youngster. Arsenal shouldn’t in his way of leaving the club, given the fact that Football Insider earlier reported that they had given Flaherty the green light to leave them for a trial with the Hammers, despite him only being halfway through his scholarship deal. With Flaherty available and eager to make the move, the ball is in West Ham’s court now.
