It was a day of contrasting outcomes for Grady Diangana and his parent club on Saturday. While the young dazzler put in a tidy performance in West Brom’s 1-0 win over Middlesbrough, ultimately causing the winning goal with his persistence down the flank, West Ham limped to a sorry 2-0 defeat at the hands of Everton. After a less than impressive creative display, this contrast clearly got many Hammers thinking, and there seems to be a mounting social media movement for Diangana to be brought back to east London in January. It’s not hard to see why. He has four goals and three assists in the Championship already this season, and is currently the second highest rated player in the division with a Whoscored rating of 7.47. Throw in 1.7 shots per game, 2.1 key passes, and 2.8 successful dribbles, and it’s fairly obvious that he has developed into a well-rounded and potent attacking force. Whether he could cut it in the Premier League is a different question, of course, but at the very least, his current output is enough to suggest that he deserves a shot. The Baggies will be praying that the Hammers leave him where he is, but if he keeps on performing how he is, these calls are only going to get louder and louder.
