Midlands side West Bromwich Albion would like to sign West Ham United loan star Grady Diangana on a permanent basis, according to a club source.
The 21-year-old has excelled on loan with Slaven Bilic’s side, so much so that the Baggies are concerned that the Hammers will recall him in January.
However, a club source has told reliable Hammers news source Claret & Hugh that West Brom would love to sign him permanently if possible.
“There is a fear the Irons will want him back – everybody here feels the same. He’s been tremendous and if he were available to buy that would be fantastic.”
OPINION
There’s surely next to no chance that West Ham will sell Diangana on a permanent basis. He has been absolutely tremendous in the Championship this season, having made his breakthrough with the Hammers last term and excelled in pre season over the summer. However, he’s taken his game to another level under former Irons boss Bilic. Obviously West Ham could well decide to recall him in January, but given how well he’s doing and the performances of people like Andriy Yarmolenko for the Irons, there’s simply no need to call him back from The Hawthorns. The statistics show just what a phenomenal job the youngster has been doing in the second tier. As per WhoScored.com, Diangana has scored four goals and bagged three assists. Meanwhile, he is averaging 1.8 shots per game and the same for key passes. He’s also managing a stunning 2.6 successful dribbles per outing. Clearly this is a young man supremely high on confidence, so there’s no possible reason why West Ham should sell him.
