Tony Cottee has claimed that West Ham United winger Andriy Yarmolenko will be vital against Everton on Saturday.

The former Hammers’ forward has tipped the 29-year-old to have a great impact at Goodison Park, after returning from international duty in great mood and goalscoring form.

Cottee heaped praise on Yarmolenko and how he has continued to look stronger as each game passes, and getting him on the ball will be key for West Ham to earn three points.

“A final word on Andriy Yarmolenko, who is in a really good place at the moment,” he wrote on the club’s official website.

“Andriy has looked a lot stronger in the last few weeks, though, he has shown some fantastic quality on the ball and I hope we see more of it on Saturday.”

Yarmolenko returned to action at the beginning of this season after missing the majority of the previous campaign after rupturing his Achilles tendon.

Yarmolenko has quickly reestablished his place as a pivotal player in Manuel Pellegrini’s side since the long-term injury. It was vital that he returned into the form given the fact that Michail Antonio quickly replaced him on the medical table. The Ukrainian has quickly got back into the flow of things as well and has already scored vital goals for the Hammers against Manchester United, Bournemouth, and Norwich. Goodison Park holds fond memories for Yarmolenko, who scored twice there last season, and Cottee is clearly crossing his fingers that he will be able to do the same and bring home all three points to East London on Saturday afternoon. The 29-year-old scored against Portugal on international duty and will be brimming with confidence going into the game, something that should motivate him to get on the ball and try and affect the result as much as possible with his deadly left foot.
