Manuel Lanzini is, arguably, one of the most underrated players in the Premier League. When the nippy Argentine is on form then there are few defenders in the top flight who can stifle his level of output. The 26-year-old would surely be hailed as one of the most dangerous players in the league if he played for one of the so-called ‘top six’, but West Ham fans will surely just be grateful that he wears claret and blue and no other colour. Already this season he has averaged 3.5 key passes and 3.3 successful dribbles per game, as per Whoscored, and he was in typically mischievous form in teh first half against Aston Villa on Monday evening. It took him a little while to get going, but when he did, he was slick and inventive, and left Villa players eating his dust on more than one occasion. If he keeps on performing like this then he’s going to start attracting some serious attention from further up the table, and given his current form, the prospect of losing him fill fill most supporters with dread. Keeping him is imperative, because replacing a player of his talents would be borderline impossible for the Hammers.
