West Ham United playmaker Manuel Lanzini will be named on the bench against Bournemouth, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football outlet claim on their website that the Argentinian international has recovered quicker than expected from injury and has made the trip to the South Coast to be involved in the Hammers’ squad.

Football Insider report that the £70,000-a-week dazzler [Spotrac] declared himself fit despite aggravating a foot injury he picked up on international duty in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa earlier in September.

It is suggested that Manuel Pellegrini will select a similar side to one that managed to pick up all three points against Manchester United in their last Premier League clash.

OPINION

It is no surprise that Lanzini is going to have to settle for a place on the bench against Bournemouth having recovered early from his injury. Pellegrini will want to reward the side that dismantled Manchester United last time out, as they strolled to a 2-0 victory with relative ease. There is no arguing Lanzini’s importance to the Hammers, but he will need to prove that he deserves to come back into the starting line up with a positive performance off the bench at the Vitality Stadium. Pellegrini will be delighted to have a player such as Lanzini on his bench, with the South American being one of this standout players, and with him on the bench, the Chilean will believe that he can always get a result. The 26-year-old has completed 3.4 dribbles per game as well as three dribbles according to WhoScored, stats which prove that he will be able to come on and change the clash should the Hammers need to claw back a result. To put in the level of performance they did against Manchester United without Lanzini only highlights the strength in depth West Ham have, but Pellegrini will be delighted to have him back in the fold.
