West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski will likely miss next Saturday’s clash with London rivals Crystal Palace, according to Claret & Hugh.

The reliable Hammers news source cited a club insider telling the outlet that the Poland international likely won’t be fit for the visit of the Eagles to the London Stadium.

However, it’s expected that he will be back in time to take on Everton after the international break. The former Arsenal man had to be substituted off during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

He will have a scan on his hip on Sunday which will more accurately reveal the extent of the setback.

OPINION

This is a nightmare scenario for any West Ham fan given how well Fabianski has performed since joining the club last summer. The ‘keeper truly has been top class for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, and so to see him go down on Saturday was incredibly concerning. However, the good news is that it’s only expected that he will miss one game. The international break is going to come at the right time for the east London outfit by the looks of this report. Ultimately, one game at a time was what summer signing Roberto was brought into the club for. He’s done OK in the Carabao Cup games he’s played thus far, while he performed perfectly adequately once he settled in against the Cherries. Still, you want Fabianski back as soon as possible, because he’s that important to the Irons. Hopefully, then, this report turns out to be true and he does only end up sidelined for one game.
