West Ham United picked up no fresh injuries after Monday night’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, according to Claret and Hugh.

The club source claimed on their website that despite a fiercely contested game at Villa Park, the Hammers have no new concerns for the game against Manchester United.

Claret and Hugh report that club sources expected some injuries because of the nature of the game against Dean Smith’s side, but came away from the Midlands with a clean bill of health.

Both Winston Reid and Xande Silva are expected to return to action for the under-23’s in the coming weeks, leaving Michail Antonio as the only player sidelined.

OPINION

This is exactly the news that Manuel Pellegrini would have wanted after the game at Villa Park. The only person who is set to miss the game against Manchester United now is Arthur Masuaku through suspension after picking up a red card in the goalless draw. With Silva and Reid also on their way back to full fitness, the Hammers look in great shape to push on and take advantage of their start. West Ham will need all their players available to them to take the three points off the Red Devils, and should they do that they will lay down a marker for the rest of the season, something their players can take forward and use as motivation. The only thing stopping the Hammers from pushing on now would be injuries, so Pellegrini’s men to go full throttle to try and pick up three points at Villa Park and come out of it unscathed, it proves they are fully prepared to do whatever it takes to progress in this campaign.
