COMMENTARY
Robert Snodgrass has angered some West Ham fans after comments he made following the club’s 1-1 draw with Brighton on Saturday.
After losing the opening game of the season 5-0 against Man City, the result was a step in the right direction for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but fans were expecting more. Snodgrass said he was happy with the team’s reaction after the heavy defeat to the Premier League champions.
Talking to the official West Ham site after the game, Snodgrass said, “We had to have a reaction from last week. On another day we could have won the game – I had a chance towards the end, Antonio too, but it’s football. You prepare throughout the week to try and get three points. Today it wasn’t, but we got a point on the board which is good for us.”
You can understand why some West Ham fans are upset with the comments but Brighton are no pushovers. The Hammers had lost their two previous game at the Amex… and probably should have lost this one too after being saved by VAR. Graham Potter’s side beat Watford 3-0 away from home in the opening game of the season.
In the context of the 5-0 defeat to Man City, it’s a step in the right direction and we think that’s what Snodgrass – on £40,000-a-week at West Ham – was getting at.
The next game for the Hammers is Watford away and hopefully the side can deliver a proper reaction and the first three points of the season.

What reaction? To put in an equally shit performance but luckily it was against a weaker side than City so we didn’t concede 5 again? If they think that performance was a good reaction then we’re in for a long season

You know it was utter shite because @davidgold is quiet today , we should be knocking these teams over , as it was we were saved by VAR not by a good performance
