West Ham may make a seven-figure bid for FC Basel forward Albian Ajeti, according to Blick.

The football outlet claim that the Hammers are currently considering whether to make a bid just under 10 million francs (£8.45million) for the 22-year-old attacker.

Blick report that FC Basel would struggle to resist an offer in that region for Ajeti and also claim that West Bromwich Albion hold an interest in the forward.

Ajeti scored 21 goals while assisting 11, in the 43 appearances he made across all competitions for Basel in his 2018/19 campaign, and if he could rack up similar numbers in the Premier League then he would be a success. The 22-year-old ended up being involved in a goal every 101.25 minutes, as per the Transfermarkt, which shows how formidable he is in front of goal.  Ajeti has also experienced the Europa League and Champions League while with Basel and if Manuel Pellegrini is serious about wanting to take the Hammers to the next level, having players who have experienced Europe’s most prestigious tournaments will only aid his quest. Also given that the Swiss attacker is still only 22-years-old, then he could be a long-term solution to the Hammers woes up front. While the Hammers did splash the cash on signing Sebastien Haller in the summer, considering they got rid of three attackers, Lucas Perez, Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll recently, then it’s clear that if they can get the funds together to bid for Ajeti then they should as they need more than one new forward to arrive.
