West Ham could be about to unearth a gem after it was reported that Chelsea teenager Adrian Akande has headed to the London Stadium for a trial.
According to reliable Irons insider ExWHUemployee via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday, the highly-rated 15-year-old is being eyed up for a potential permanent switch across the capital to join West Ham’s youth side and the club are taking a closer look at him before that happens.

Akande is certainly someone who has been talked up to have a big future.
Earlier this year after he opted to represent Nigeria at international level instead of England, the striker’s agent Tobi Alabi told allnigeriasoccer.com that his client has “no weaknesses” and even compared him to Real Madrid star Eden Hazard and Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.
”He plays like Hazard and Barcelona’s Dembele. He is two-footed, very quick and strong on the ball. He can score the same, with both right foot and left foot and he is a hard worker,” Alabi said.
Akande has also been linked with a move to continental Europe given how highly-rated he is by scouts.
The Mirror reported via their print edition on April 18 that Ajax, who arguably have one of the best youth systems in the world, and RB Leipzig have both shown an interest in signing the former Crystal Palace youngster.
Allnigeriasoccer.com reported in April that even Bayern Munich were considering a move for the striker and had sent a member of their scouting team to keep close tabs on him while he represented Nigeria’s Under-17s.
If clubs like that are showing interest in Akande, and there is already an international tug-of-war over his allegiance, it would be fair to assume that there are talent spotters out there who see a lot of potential in the teenage ace.
At the age of 15, he has already been reported to have trained with Chelsea’s Under-18s and a move to West Ham, where there is a lot less competition due to the club not signing as many players, could be just what Akande needs to really see himself shine.
