OPINION

After a lacklustre first half at the AMEX, West Ham appeared to come to life against Brighton at the beginning of the second half – even if it only lasted for less than 30 minutes. Javier Hernandez failed to make much of impact in the game and looked isolated at many points of the contest as the Seagulls dominated the contest. The Mexican has made a career in the Premier League of poaching in and around the 18-yard box and he is the one player you want the ball to fall too should the opposition defence fall to sleep. The 31-year-old came to life though and latched onto a loose ball in the box and slotted it into the Brighton net with ease. Many West Ham fans took to Twitter to share their joy over Hernandez, with one fan suggesting he deserves a statue – with that claim surely being made in relief as they were most likely just excited that their side had finally scored against the run of play.
