On a day where West Ham United struggled going forward against Brighton in a 1-1 draw, Grady Diangana announced himself on the Championship stage, firing West Brom to a 2-1 victory against Luton. The young winger came off the bench at halftime for Slaven Bilic’s side at Kennilworth Road and scored two quickfire goals which saw them pick up the three points. His first was a great strike from distance, proving he can both run at his man and create chances, but also back himself to have a strike on goal wherever he is. The starlet could class himself as unlucky to find himself away from the Hammers this season after making a breakthrough in the previous campaign – where he was used 17 times – six of those being starts in the top flight. He only delivered a single assist in those games though, averaging 0.7 key passes per game [WhoScored], something that Manuel Pellegrini surely wanted him to improve on with consistent game time this season. Many West Ham fans reacted with great joy over his performance on Saturday, with one fan calling it a Diangana “masterclass.”
