Harry Redknapp has predicted that West Ham United will pick up all three points against Norwich City on Saturday.
The former Hammers manager expects Manuel Pellegrini’s men to heap more misery on the Canaries at the London Stadium, blaming the newly-promoted side’s fragile defence as a reason for why they will lose.
Redknapp claimed that after back-to-back wins in both the league and cup, a game against Norwich is the perfect opportunity to keep that run going.
Speaking on his Bet Victor predictions column, West Ham were one of Redknapp’s first selections to pick up all three points in the game.
“West Ham can heap further misery on the visitors with success in the capital Saturday afternoon,” he said.
“The Canaries were delighted to open their account with a 3-1 success over Newcastle but concerns remain over their defence which conceded four at Liverpool and three at home to Chelsea last weekend.”
OPINION
With both teams conceding a number of goals, it could be a game full of just that on Saturday. Norwich have conceded eight goals, whereas the Hammers have only shipped in seven – with both clubs only pickup up the single win so far this season. West Ham will be looking to build up some momentum in the Premier League and not replicate the dreadful start they had last season. After their thrashing at the hands of Manchester City on the opening day, the Hammers will be looking to put that behind them and make the London Stadium a fortress this season. West Ham have only averaged 45.1% possession so far this season, which has led to a poor 9.7 shots on goal according to WhoScored – something that must be improved if they are to heap more misery on Norwich as Redknapp has predicted will happen on Saturday. Norwich will be no pushovers and have scored six goals despite losing twice, and West Ham must remain strong in defence as well as looking to score goals themselves.
