Pellegrini does rate Holland

|

West Ham manager does rate starlet Nathan Holland, despite deciding to leave him out of the Hammers’ Carabao Cup tie against Newport County on Tuesday evening, according to reliable source ExWHUemployee.

According to Ex, the Chilean will opt for a more senior side against the League Two club, meaning that Holland is likely to miss out.

But that doesn’t mean that Pellegrini isn’t a fan of the 21-year-old.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Ex said: “He does rate him yes but he has just gone for a more senior side today.”

OPINION

Holland must be wondering what he has to do to catch a break at the moment. The youngster has been in fine form for the U23s recently, and the fact that he hasn’t been shipped out on loan would seem to suggest that Pellegrini does view him in his plans in some capacity. That being said, if the manager isn’t going to trust him enough throw him into the mix against League Two opposition, then when will he get his chance? Holland penned a new contract back in May, as confirmed by the club, and is tied to the club until at least 2022, but as it stands, he musty be feeling at least a little perturbed. He has shown that he has the talent to get his shot at the senior side, and has been a real standout since signing from Everton’s youth system in 2017. If his fortunes don’t change soon, however, it would surely be no surprise to see him hankering for first team foot all elsewhere, even if it is only on loan.
