West Ham United are close to agreeing a new deal for Manuel Lanzini, according to Claret and Hugh.
The club source claim that the Hammers are hoping to wrap up talks and finalise a new deal for the Argentinian international in the next week.
Claret and Hugh report that after weeks of talks, Lanzini’s main agent is due to touch down in London for final meetings and to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
Lanzini was reported by Football Insider to be wanting a deal worth £120,000-a-week, a new contract that would make him the second-highest earner in the West Ham side behind Javier Hernandez [Spotrac].

This would be great news for all West Ham fans if their club could secure a deal with Lanzini. The Hammers were waiting for the playmaker to prove his worth after injury led to a long lay off, and the 26-year-old has done just that. Starting in pre-season, Lanzini returned to training in great form, and alongside Pablo Fornals looked dangerous – scoring a number of goals in friendlies. It hasn’t just stopped there though, with the Argentine the stand out player for Manuel Pellegrini at the beginning of the campaign so far. Lanzini has averaged two key passes per game so far, which is four times the amount of the nearest Hammers’ player Declan Rice. The Argentinian has also completed four dribbles per game – with only Arthur Masuaku the only player to match him after two games [WhoScored]. Lanzini has more than proved his worth to West Ham at the beginning of this season and would be smart to tie him down as soon as possible.
