Stan Collymore has taken to Twitter to deliver his prediction for West Ham’s Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.

The Hammers travel to the AMEX Stadium having never won there before, and with their hosts riding high following their 3-0 opening weekend victory over Watford.

And Collymore is of the opinion that the Irons will struggle again on the south coast, predicting a 2-0 win for the Seagulls.

OPINION

The Hammers will be hoping and praying that Collymore is well wide of the mark on this one. Their record against Brighton leaves a lot to be desired, and their opening weekend couldn’t have gone much worse, all things considered, but this is a great opportunity to get up and running for the season. You feel that a lot of West Ham’s chances of success in this game rest on whether or not they can sort out their midfield issues. The Irons looked very flimsy in the centre of the park without Mark Noble against Manchester City, and Jack Wilshere, deputising in a deeper role, had a bad day at the office, to put it mildly. The midfielder made just one tackle all match, and contributed nothing else in a defensive sense, as per Whoscored, leaving Declan Rice horribly exposed. If Pellegrini has addressed that issue in the week then the Irons should be okay, if not, this could be another long afternoon.
