OPINION
Abrahams probably isn’t the only West Ham fan who wants Rondon signed, as the 29-year-old had a fantastic season at the Magpies in his 2018/19 campaign. Rondon scored 11 goals and assisted seven in his 32 league outings for Newcastle, and has a lot of Premier League experience in general having played 140 times in England’s top-flight. The forward finished second in the Magpies’ scoring charts, one goal behind Ayoze Perez who was in prolific form during the final games of the season, and averaged a goal every 218 minutes (Source: BBC). While the Hammers currently have an attacker in the form of Marko Arnautovic who averages a goal every 184 minutes, Rondon does average a goal more often than the Hammers’ second-highest scorer last season, Felipe Anderson, as the Brazilan on average scored a goal every 311 minutes (Source: BBC). Also it’s worth noting that the West Bromwich Albion attacker racked up more assists than both Arnautoivc and Anderson, who got four each, so that shows how he could boost the attacking threat of Manuel Pellegrini’s side if he arrived.
