Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol claimed that West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals could soon be worth £100million.

The Sky Sports reporter stated that the Hammers had done really well to sign the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, as in a few transfer windows he could end up being worth £100million.

Solhekol made the remarks after dubbing Fornals the best signing of the summer so far and shared that the playmaker was even being compared to Andres Iniesta in Spain.

“The best signing this summer by far, I think has been Pablo Fornals,” said Solhekol on Sky Sports News (19:57, Monday, July 22nd).

“West Ham signed him for £24million from Villarreal, he looked a real real player in the U-21 championships playing for Spain, creating chances, scoring goals, great technical ability, he’s even been described as the new Andres Iniesta in Spain.

“He’s that good and West Ham did really really well to get him for just £24million as I think in a few windows, he could be a £100million player.”

OPINION

Wow. Fornals is yet to make his debut for West Ham but it seems Solhekol is already imagining how much West Ham could eventually sell him for down the line. It’s no surprise that the Sky Sports journalist believes the Hammers have done well to sign Fornals as you feel at the age of 23-year-old, the midfielder can still get better which will see his value soar. However, Manuel Pellegrini won’t be thinking about the midfielder’s potential, but will just be focused on getting the best out of him in his debut season at the London Stadium. On paper, Fornals looks like being the creative player the Hammers’ midfield currently needs. The 23-year-old assisted six while scoring five in his 50 appearances for Villarreal last season and grabbed two goals as well as assist while helping Spain win the U-21 European Championships earlier in the summer. Fornals averaged 1.7 shots per game in his league outing and had a pass completion rate of 78.1%, so hopefully, he’ll slot into the Hammers’ side nicely and be an attacking threat for them.
